LASER SKIN TREATMENTS

What concerns can be treated with lasers?
Laser treatments help with acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, redness, enlarged pores, spider veins, and unwanted hair. Laser can also tighten and remodel the skin for a more youthful look.

Which types of laser treatments do you offer?

  • Suprema laser, IPL, and Radiofrequency (RF) laser.

What are the differences between the types of laser treatments?

The difference between intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser is that laser uses only one wavelength whereas IPL has a range of light wavelengths. Lasers are much more specific for one target, whereas IPL has a range of targets. The combination of these energy therapies allows us significant customization for the type of skin we are treating.

Radiofrequency (RF) is not based on light, but is based on electricity. An energy is developed that has a positive and negative pole and the heat generated is due to the resistance of the skin as the energy travels through it. This can cause general “bulk” heating and resurfacing, making the skin firmer or tighter.

Are there any risks?
Minor redness or swelling is common. Rare risks include pigment changes. We provide guidance on who should avoid laser treatments. The lack of downtime and overall effectiveness of this treatment makes it extraordinarily popular, and it has been a mainstay of esthetic treatments for about 15 years.

NEUROTOXINS (BOTOX®, DYSPORT®, ETC.)

What areas can neurotoxins treat?
They are used to smooth:

  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines
  • Lip flips
  • Chin dimpling
  • Neck bands

What is the recovery time?
You can return to most activities right after treatment. Avoid lying down, makeup, or exercise for 4–24 hours.

How long do results last?
Most people see results within a few days, which last 3–4 months.
