Cryotherapy
Cyrotherapy is a quick, in-office treatment that uses extreme cold to destroy abnormal or unwanted tissue.
It’s commonly used to treat:
Warts
Skin Tags
Actinic Keratoses (Precancerous spots)
Other benign skin lesions
How does it work?
Your provider applies liquid nitrogen to the affected area. The cold causes the abnormal cells to freeze and die, and your body will naturally heal over the next 1-2 weeks.
What to expect during treatment:
Quick procedure (just a few minutes!)
Stinging or burning sensation during freezing
Blistering or scabbing afterward is normal
Mild discomfort that fades over time
Aftercare instructions:
Take care of the treated area to promote healing:
Keep it clean and dry
Wash gently with soap and water once daily
Apply petroleum jelly (vaseline) if it feels dry or irritated
Cover with bandage if needed
Don't pick at scabs or blisters
Healing time: 7-14 days
Possible side effects
Some minor side effects are normal and temporary:
Redness, swelling, or mild pain
Blistering or crusting
Temporary or permanent skin color changes
Rarely: Infection or scarring
Call us if you notice:
Increased redness, warm, or pus
Severe or worsening pain
No improvement after 2 weeks
Do I need a follow-up?
Some spots may require more than one treatment. Your provider will let you know if a follow-up is needed.
